He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Alkema and Josephine Alkema (Postumus). He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. (Holster); his children, Debra Bower (Eddie) of Oakland, NJ, Bart Alkema, Jr. (Kathy) of Stroudsburg, Joann Jamison of East Stroudsburg and Nicholas Alkema (Evelyn Anderson) of East Stroudsburg; and his siblings, Eddie, Sophia, Diane and Sadie. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
