He is survived by: his wife Ella M Whiteley Buchanan; his children, David (Ana Mariela Buchanan) of Landisville, Denise (Jeff Lepard) of Midlothian, VA, Shannon (John Saia) of Lititz, Robert (Shayna Walters) of Manayunk, PA and Elyse (Sam Minder) of Mountville; his grandchildren, Lucas, Noah, Nicholas, Johnny and Josie; and his siblings, Philip Buchanan of East Petersburg and Christine Kuder of Easton.
