Chester Hurst Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Chester Hurst (East Earl, Pennsylvania), who passed away on July 4, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah S. Hurst and Eva M. Hurst; his siblings, Melvin, Emma, Edwin, Walter, Mary, Earl, Marvin and Raymond; and his great grandchild Dakota Zimmerman.

He is survived by: his wife Kathryn; his children, Cliff (Chris) of Salunga, C. Scott (Lisa) of Terre Hill, Melody Zimmerman (Kurt) of Denver and Kristy Yoder (Jeff) of Mount Joy; his grandchildren, Caryn Hurst, Beth Miller (Dominic), Andy Zimmerman (Kristen), Katie Fisher (Darren), Ben Hurst (Sheila), Emily Stoltzfus (Caleb), Nic Hurst, Josh Yoder and Caleb Yoder; his great grandchildren, Lilly, Charlotte, Eva, Violet Miller, Noah, Ashton, Jonah Zimmerman, Weston Fisher and Colton Stoltzfus; his sisters, Irene Good (Richard), Mabel Long, Elsie Childers (Charles) and Louella VanPelt; and his sisters-in-law, Lydia Ann Hurst and Ella Hurst Zimmerman (Isaac).

He was also a faithful member of Goodville Mennonite Church for many years and he very much missed the in person fellowship with other parishioners during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In lieu of flowers the family would suggest that donations be made in Chet's memory to Christian Aid Ministries, Weaverland Valley Fire Department, Hospice & Community Care of Lancaster, or to a charity of your choosing.
