He was predeceased by : his parents, Elmer Bernstiel and Edna Bernstiel; his daughter Brenda Bernstiel Castor; his grandson Joshua DeFreitas; and his siblings, Sonny, Bobby, Nebbie Eagens, Sissy Mitchell, Delores Fiorella and Diane Himes.

He is survived by : his wife Eileen Ralph; his children, Ralph Bernstiel (Kim) and Eileen DeFreitas (Aret Hashas); his grandchildren, Matthew Bernstiel Daniel DeFreitas (Melanie), Megan Adiletto Michael Bernstiel (John) and Sarah DeLong (Shawn); his son-in-law James Castor; and his siblings, Ginny Alexy and Jack Bernstiel.

Viewing was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:55 AM and from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM at the Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Funeral Home (200 W Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 at the George Washington Memorial Park (80 Stenton Ave, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462).
