He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Bernstiel and Edna Bernstiel; his daughter Brenda Bernstiel Castor; his grandson Joshua DeFreitas; and his siblings, Sonny, Bobby, Nebbie Eagens, Sissy Mitchell, Delores Fiorella and Diane Himes.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen Ralph; his children, Ralph Bernstiel (Kim) and Eileen DeFreitas (Aret Hashas); his grandchildren, Matthew Bernstiel Daniel DeFreitas (Melanie), Megan Adiletto Michael Bernstiel (John) and Sarah DeLong (Shawn); his son-in-law James Castor; and his siblings, Ginny Alexy and Jack Bernstiel.
