With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Michael D. George Sr. (Duryea, Pennsylvania), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, David George and Mildred George (Clifford); his wife Mary Catherine George (Soroka); his children, Michael George II and Janice George; and his siblings, David George, Thomas George, Joseph George, Mary Ann Sowa, Martin George, Donald George and Theresa Marie Pollard.
He is survived by: his significant other Kay; his daughter Christine Scatena of Avoca; his grandchildren, Michael George III, Jonathon George, Jessica Baiera (Andrew Reynolds), John Baiera III (Becky), Elizabeth Baiera (Trey Piscitelli), Louis Scatena, Jr. (Katie Kretsch), Alyssa Scatena (Jamie Colarusso) and Eric Scatena (McKenzi Divers); and his great grandchildren, Michael IV, Tiara, Brandon, Evie, Max, Olivia, Jamison, Bobby and Bella. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc. (255 McAlpine St, Duryea, PA 18642). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Queen of the Apostles Parish Church (715 Hawthorne St, Avoca, PA 18641).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be may to the Avoca Hose Company, 740 Main St., Avoca, PA 18641.
