It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joseph W. Frew (Duryea, Pennsylvania), who passed away on June 2, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Frew and Elizabeth Frew (Sheerer); and his siblings, Thomas, James Frew and Kathleen Tippett.
He is survived by: his daughter Avoca; his wife Barbara Lechleitner of Tower City; his stepchildren, Maria, Hans Balchune, Lisa, James Gromelski, Jina, Peter Kohl and Mountaintop; his grandchildren, Krista Gromelski, Aimee Balchune, Matthew Gromelski, Brooke Blaker (Joshua), Rachael, Sydney Kohl and Morgan Gromelski; his stepgrandchildren, Sean Kohl and Annie Strausser (Brad); and his sister Helen Eckrote. He is also survived by four step great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Epilepsy Foundation Eastern PA-Wilkes-Barre Office or the Medical Oncology RX Fund.
