He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph F. Karaffa, Jr. and Gloria J. Schatzel (Pasquarello); his wife Shannon N. Karaffa (Callahan); and his sister Kristina Schatzel. He is survived by: his children, Carly Karaffa (Anthony Zimmerman) of Kingston and Jovanni Karaffa of Duryea; his close friend Lindsey LaCorte; his stepdaughter Caitlyn Callahan of Dallas; his half-brother Jerome Schatzel, III of Nanticoke; and also, Randy Greenfield and Leah Greenfield of Duryea.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc. (20 S Main St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Saints Peter & Paul Church (13 Hudson Rd, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705).
