It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joseph John Banick of Dunmore, Pennsylvania, born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 26, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Banick and Frances Pavliga Banick; and his siblings, Margaret Banick Boland, Bernard, Robert and Dr. William Banick.

He is survived by: his siblings, Sister Dolores M, Carol Banick Mummert of Vista, CA and Monsignor Thomas V. Banick of Dunmore. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the chapel from 10 a. m. until the time of Mass. It is recommended that all attending wear a mask.

Contributions in Joseph's memory may be made to the Retirement Fund of the IHM Sisters, c/o the IHM Center, 2300 Adams Ave., Scranton, 18509.
