He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel F. Dempsey and Hulda Ruger Dempsey; his wife Elizabeth Kraftician Dempsey; his siblings, Mary Patricia Sollecito, Carol Ann Dempsey, Daniel, Robert and Thomas Dempsey; and his son-in-law John "Jay" Gillern.
He is survived by: his daughter Jacqueline "Jackie" Gillern of Olyphant; his granddaughters, Kirsten Marie Gillern of Olyphant and Jennifer Ann Gillern of Syracuse, NY; and his brother William Dempsey of Plymouth, PA.
Viewing was held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home (318 E Drinker St, Dunmore, PA 18512). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (1101 Willow St, Peckville, PA 18452). The military honors was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 at the Dunmore Cemetery (400 Church St, Dunmore, PA 18512).
