He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph Sr. and Rose Marie Koloras; and his siblings, Rosanne Shotto and Peter Mecca. He is survived by: his wife Mary Clare Morris; his daughters, Michelle Mecca, Christina Mecca and Janice Mecca of Dunmore; his grandchildren, Cameron Dougher, Emma, Benjamin and Jacob Kernoschak; and his nephew Warren Shotto (Pam). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
