He was predeceased by: his parents, George E. Turner and Katherine Parker (Inman); and his siblings-in-law, Dr. Robert Smith and Diana Turner. He is survived by: his wife Victoria Smith; his sons, Richard (Cassie Turner), David (Shawna Turner) and Daniel (Ashley Turner); his stepchildren, Nicole (Bob Kephart), Nathan (Rachel Gironda) and Sadie Lightner; and his siblings, Jack (Dorothy Turner), Jerry Turner, Cathy Smith and Craig (Lorie Parker). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and step grandchildren.
