He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Balash and Amy Balash (Heihecker); his wife Donna J. Hamilton; his daughter Bobbie Jo Balash; and his siblings, Andrew, William, James, Alois, John Balash, Alice Balash and Marie Verbeck.
He is survived by: his daughter Ann M. Lucas (Jonathan Peterson) of Shunk, PA; his grandchildren, Joshua D. Lucas and Amy M. Lucas; and his siblings, Stephen C. Balash (Phyllis) of Bellefonte, Richard C. "Wilbur" Balash (Janet) of Clarence and Katherine L. "Katie" Hahn (Daniel) of Moshannon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
