It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Oran Albert Shafer of Duncannon, Pennsylvania, born in Port Trevorton, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 24, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger H Shafer and Minnie Shafer; his wife Catherine Shafer; his sons, Roger and Oran Jr.; his siblings, Mildred Brubaker, Erma Martin and Lamar; and his great grandchild Brantley.
He is survived by: his children, Charles Shafer (Lori) of Ohio, Donald Shafer (Winifred) of Enola, Thomas Shafer of Enola, Pamela Sharar (late Edward) of Newport and Ellen DeWalt (Alan) of York Haven. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
