He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Harter and Mae Harter (Frazier); his siblings, Faye Vonada, Frances Coder, Martha Harter, Dollie Rishel, Betty Harter, Charles, Dean, Roy, Glenn, Wayne, Marlin and Phillip; his son Christopher; and his grandson Deryk Garland.
He is survived by: his sister Miriam Keen; his children, Cynthia Garland, Constance Slaseman (Mike) and Curtis (Carole); his grandson Michael; and his great grandchildren, Coltyn Garland and Alex Hampton.
