She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Welder and Fay Welder (Hartzfeld); her son Charles "Chucky" Pettit Nixon; and her siblings, Richard "Dick" Welder, Clifford "Martin" Welder, Clair Welder, Leroy "Jake" Welder, Rosalee Hullihen and Ruby Welder.
She is survived by: her husband James L. Joiner; her children, Josh Joiner (Jamie Donaldson), Michele Bowser (Jeff), Sheila Kotch (Jack), Schuyll Haven, Nicole Sellers (James) of Raleigh, NC and Tammi Joiner-Williams of Fayetteville, NC; her adoptive daughter Cheryl McKinley (Bradford); and her sister Mary Ellen Welder (Ellie). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
