He was predeceased by: his parents, David E. Carlson and Flora Carlson (Ruddock); his wife Laura Ann Henery; his son Donald; his grandson Glenn; and his siblings, Willis, Robert, Grace and Marjorie.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Carlson (Nancy), Helen McKendree (Dallas), Tim Carlson (Mary) and Scott Carlson (Karen); and his grandchildren, Christy Weaver (Kenneth), Lisa Snider (Gerald Hoak), Corey Tost (Keri), David Carlson (Arley Urton), Daniel Carlson and Autumn Carlson. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Although flowers are appreciated, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Reynoldsville Veteran's Memorial Fund, the Alzheimer's Association, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
