She was predeceased by: her parents, George Douglas and Amy Douglas; and her sister Joan Axelson. She is survived by: her husband Harold "Hal" Almond; her sons, Russell Almond (Kjrsten Henriksen) and Robert Almond; her grandchildren, Shahrazad "Zadi" and Marguerite "Margot" Almond; and her brother Bruce Douglas.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's name may be made to Jarrettown United Methodist Church, the American Red Cross or "Plant a Tree".
