He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joanne; his daughter Allison Anne Bauer (Stephen); his brother Michael (Martha); his grandchildren, Tyler and Chloe Anne; and his parents, Charles Puglia and Wanda Puglia. He was also cherished by cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The United States Surgeon General presented Charlie with an award from the Medical College of Penna. as the faculty member who made a significant contribution to medicine in 2000.
