He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bartzak and Eva Bartzak (Turinchak); and his siblings, Michael Bartzak, William Bartzak and Dorothy Krech.

He is survived by: his wife Bernadine "Nicki" Bartzak (Ohotnicky); his children, Stephen Bartzak (Kitty), Joseph Bartzak, III (Cynthia), Mary Jo Bolling (Raymond) and John Bartzak (Susan Ramos); his brother Robert Bartzak; and his grandchildren, Stephen Bartzak, Jr., Kathleen Bartzak, McKenna Bartzak, Emily Bartzak, John Bartzak, Jr., Christopher Ramos and Matthew Ramos.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad, PO Box 237, Lambertville, NJ 08530, who were always there when he needed them.
