He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie C. McGowan and Thomas A. McGowan; his sons, Thomas and Michael; and his siblings, Thomas, Marie, Patricia (Souther), Catherine (Nay) and Geraldine (Costello).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara McGowan; his sons, John Jr., Patrick (Jane) and Terence; his grandson Terence Jr. (Bethany); his great grandchild Terence III; and his granddaughter Meghan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and family relatives.
