He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Margaret Broderick (Baker) and John Broderick; his siblings, Harry, Dolly, Dorothy (Dotty) and Mary; his wife Eleanor Schoenwald; his children, Joan, Steven, Jane, Louise and John; his grandchildren, Paul Southworth III, Nicole Hodges (Beau Hodges), Danielle (Chris McKeen Lauren), Jeff Karnick, Philip Sanfilippo (Deidra), Martina (Eric McGaw), Jenna Sanfilippo (Danny Aquino), Michael Broderick and Elyssa Broderick; his great grandchildren, Steven Hodges, RJ Hodges, Henry Hodges, Jack Sanfilippo, Eleanor Karnick, Lucas Sanfilippo, Lillian Karnick, Max McGaw and Professor Eric S. Sirulnik; and also Cecily.
