She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Griffin and Gladys Griffin (Johnston); her brother Lawrence; and her sister-in-law Ruth Griffin. She is survived by: her husband Bob Staples; her children, David Staples (Deborah) and Laurie Ritchie (Joseph); and her grandchildren, Eric Ritchie, Zachary Staples and Jessica Ritchie. She is also survived by several relatives and many longtime friends.
