He is survived by: his wife Amy; his brother Roger Garthly (Jan); his children, David Garthly, Amy Rubin (Ken) of Hillsborough, NJ, Sara Garthly and Neil Garthly (Jess) of Brick, NJ; and his grandchildren, Amy, Kayla, Talia Rubin, Madyson Garthly and Taylor Kinnear.
