He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard A. Thompson and Hulda A. Thompson (Granstrom); and his brother Dr. Howard E. Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Nancy A. Thompson (Heckman); his children, Richard T. Thompson of Corvallis, OR, Roderick S. Thompson (Patricia Ryan) of Downingtown, PA, Wendy J. Thompson (Elise Bush) of Fairview, OR and Jane L. Thompson of Charlottesville, VA; his grandchildren, Erin, Kimberly, Christopher, Patrick and Ailish; his great grandchildren, Kennedy, Quillen, Eleanor Margaret and Jemma Jean; his sister-in-law Judith Thompson; and his right hand man Warren Kim Popjoy.
