He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert F. Schearer III and Brigid A. Schearer of Havertown, PA.. He is survived by: his wife Susan Stafford Schearer; and his siblings, Dawn Neiley and Raymond (Heidi).

Marty was a big supporter of the SPCA so in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA (https://bvspca.org) in his name.
