He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Cunius, Sr. and Edna Jones Cunius; his former wife Lillian Costello Cunius; his daughter Linda K. Cunius; and his sister Juanita Carlton.

He is survived by: his wife Ann Ferrentino Cunius; his children, Anne Marie Corcoran (late Joseph) of Tampa, FL, Lillian C. Moore (William) of West Chester, John W. Cunius, III (Peggy) of Downingtown, Edward A. Cunius (Mary Beth) of West Chester, Edie M. MacCarty (Keith) of Exton and Colette D. Sarmento (late Luigi) of West Chester; and his stepchildren, Michael Ferrentino (Adriane) of Vero Beach, FL and Cheryl Shaefer (Douglas) of Buffalo, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
