He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Brittingham Lawson Monaghan; his parents, Jerome J. Monaghan, Sr. and Mary L. Simmler Monaghan; his children, Bonnie Monaghan and Kevin Monaghan; his grandson Brian Monaghan; and his son Peter L. Lawson.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Wood of Coatesville, PA, Keith Monaghan of Havertown, PA and Kathy Monaghan of Reedsville, PA; his grandchildren, Brooke Monaghan and Patrick Monaghan; and his great grandchild James Monaghan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
