He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ray Thompson, Sr. and Eleanor J. "Jane" Tipton Thompson; and his brother Theodore "Ted" Henry Thompson. He is survived by: his sister Penny Noles (Randall); and his nieces and nephews, Shannon McCarty, Jennifer Thompson, Randall Noles, Jr., Michael Noles, Andrew Noles and Stephen Noles.
