She was predeceased by: her spouse Dale E. Melhorn; and her parents, Frederick W. M. and Edith Irene Gibson (Houseman). She is survived by: her sons, Jerrold Spangler and Jeffrey Spangler. She is also survived by six step children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
