She was predeceased by: her husband Chikkanarasappa; her sons, Tilak, Andrew and Jon; her parents, John Cordaro and Anna Cordaro; and her sister Johanna Sassaman.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jessica (Corey Michaud) of Takoma Park, MD, Jennifer of Bethesda, MD and Laura (Nihat Polat) of Austin, TX; her grandchildren, Seth Michaud, India Michaud and Zeki Polat; her sister Anne Hilbert (Robert); her brother-in-law James Sassaman; and her nieces, Jacqueline Sassaman Miller, Stephanie Sassaman Rogovin, Antoinette Sassaman Alderfer and Amy Hilbert Landis. She is also survived by her friends, sisters, and daughters.
