She was predeceased by: her parents, Bela Puhasz and Elizabeth Puhasz (Rathmanner). She is survived by: her husband Joseph; her son Joseph Szimhart (Becky); her son-in-law Steve Seitz; her grandchildren, Christina (Rick), Nadia (Felix), Deborah, Ona and Lani; her great grandchildren, Charles, Alex, Leela, Jack and Hana; her goddaughter Agnes Mullard; and her daughter Jeanette Seitz.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Magyar Tanya organization (https://magyartanya.org) in honor of Helen's heritage and legacy.
