He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Thorpe and Irene Thorpe; his sister Helen J. Davis; and his niece Pamela Harvey (James). He is survived by: his daughter Glynitt Scales-Patterson (Greg); his grandchildren, Brittany R. Scales and Kyle Sanders of Monessen; and his nephew Frank "Wyatt" Davis.
