He is survived by: his daughters, Colleen Confer (Keith, Carla Brechbill) of Independence and Carin Bardwell (Robert) of Albuquerque; his grandchildren, Christopher Confer and Carleen Shirk; his great grandchildren, Hayden, Brooklyn Shirk, Natalie and Caitlin Confer; and his sister Frances Ulery of Orlando, FL..
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Zion Lutheran Church.
