She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Haer and Viola Baker Haer (White). She is survived by: her stepfather Jay L. Haer; her husband James R. Shaffer; her daughters, Susan S. Cox (Bradley) of Forest, VA and Joan E. Keefer (Kenneth) of Morgantown; and her grandchildren, Taylor Cox (Katie Smith), Caroline Cox, Connor Miles and Zachary Miles.
