He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Cassell and Frances Cassell (Wickey); and his grandsons, Troy and Travis Secrest. He is survived by: his wife Joann E. Cassell (Sipe); his children, Cindy J. Secrest of Mechanicsburg, Lynn E. Cassell (Val) of Gardners, Daniel E. Cassell of Wellsville and Denise E. Hiester (Andy) of Virginia; his siblings, Walter Cassell, Jr. of Wellsville and Kitty Cassell of New Cumberland; his grandchildren, Jessica Secrest, Andrea Byerly and Aaron Rahn; and his great grandchildren, Shae and Everett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Celebration Community Church, 1048 South Mountain Road, Dillsburg, PA 17019.
