With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donald E. Markelwitz of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 15, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold E. Markelwitz and E. Romaine Markelwitz (Bingaman); his wife Nancy Markelwitz (Wagner) of New Cumberland; and his daughter Donna L. Barney of Easton. He is survived by: his brothers, John Markelwitz (late Doris) of Harrisburg and Roger Gross (Sherry) of Harrisburg; his children, Lisa Markelwitz Marszalek of New Cumberland, Kelli Harman of Mechanicsburg, Richard Walters (Mary) of Mechanicsburg and Jill Walters of Atlantic Beach, FL.; and his grandchildren, Doug, Ethan, Alexis, Richard, Karie, Trevor, Rachel, Anthony, Kimberly, Romaine and Tristan. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Safe Toddles, a nonprofit company providing pediatric belt canes to blind toddlers like Don's precious great-grandson Vinny, who lovingly called him his "Great-Grand-PawPaw.".
