He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Charles Peterson and Joan Klinger Peterson. He is survived by: his children, Cassidy Peterson, Lacey Peterson and Kyle Peterson; his stepson Dyllon Hudson-Emory; his siblings, Benjamin Peterson (Stacy) and Sharon "Sherry" Brandt; and also Kiesha Hudson Peterson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Dennis' life will be celebrated at a later date due to COVID-19.
