He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kanton and Dorothy Tomasaitis Kanton of Mary's Visitation Church; and his brothers, John, Thomas, Gerald and Frank Kanton.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Karmol Kanton; his children, James Kanton (Alicia) and Diane Wasp (Jon); his grandchildren, Olivia, Alexis, Logan Wasp, Hudson and Daphne Kanton; and his siblings, Robert Kanton (Johanna), William Kanton (Ellen), Lorraine Borgia (Tony), Thompson and Mary Kanton. He is also survived by his family and friends.
