He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottis Gardner and Betty Gardner (Hill). He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline A. "Jackie" Gardner (Shank); his children, Ron Gardner, Billie Palmer, Tina Gardner and Heather Gardner; and his siblings, Richard Gardner, Nora Gardner-Hancock and Tammy Eiseman. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
