He is survived by: his father James L. Carns III; his stepmother Marlene Carns of Latrobe; his children, Kara Austin (Justin) of Bradenville, Katelyn Carns of Trafford and James L. Carns V of Trafford; his siblings, Michael Carns of Omaha and Terri Lynn Carns of Latrobe; his grandchildren, Trinity Palmer and Scarlett Austin; and his daughter Sophia. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Action for Animals, P.O. Box 814, Latrobe, PA 15650.
