He was predeceased by: his parents, William G. Hughes and Margaret I. Plowman Hughes; his former wife Clara Dixon Hughes; his son Rev. David N. Hughes; and his siblings, William G. Hughes Jr. and Catherine Isabelle Hoone.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Kaeff Hughes; his children, Rev. Kevin E. Hughes (Jan Hughes) of Shippensburg, Marie Cook (Scott) of Johnstown, Rebecca Hart (Dustin) of Greensburg, Elizabeth Carns (Daniel) of Herminie and Deirdre Perry of Greensburg; his sister Peggy Hughes O'Hara (William) of Latrobe; his daughter-in-law Tayna Hughes-White (Dennis); his grandchildren, Kelly Hughes, Joshua Hughes (April), Heather Dreese (Derrick), Jessica Barnes (Jason), Matt Hughes (Katelyn), Levi Cook, Natalie, Andrew Carns and Dax Perry; his great grandchildren, Beau Barnes, Alyssa, Lauren Kubistek and Stefani Dreese; and his great great grandchildren, Tessa and Waylon Schaum. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the McCabe Funeral Home (300 W 3rd Ave, Derry, PA 15627). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 6:30 PM and on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM.
