He was predeceased by: his daughter Maiv Npheev; and his siblings, Yaj Sua, Ntxhi, Npis, Kab, Ntxhiav, Vaj Lee and Npawv.
He is survived by: his spouse Jou Xiong Yang; his parents, Ya Toua and Mee Moua Yang; his children, Paj Hawj, Tub Vanyvong, Katelynn and David; and his sisters, Ntxhoo Lis, Tiaj Muas and Maiv Nyiaj Vaj.
