He was predeceased by: his spouse Ardel; his parent Arthur Garner; and his brother Russel Garner. He is survived by: his parent Mary Garner (Blatt); his daughters, Vicki Garner-Sweigart, Kathy G. Wilson and Heidi G. Ulrich; his grandchildren, Kelsey E. Gray and Tyler Ulrich; his great grandchildren, Ava, Waylon and Lane; his stepgrandchildren, Kenny Wilson, Julie Wilson and Beth Drupp; and his brother Robert Wenrich.
