Virginia Lee Waddell Obituary

Life story prepared by her loving family: Virginia "Ginny" Lee Waddell, 81, of Delta, PA, passed away on December 2, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Ginnny was born in Baltimore, MD, on December 8, 1941, to the late Lawrence E. & Ruth E. DeVaughn.

She was a staple of the local "Delta Family Restaurant" where she worked for over 30 years. You could come get a cup of coffee with a little bit of local gossip as a side for free. Ginny loved traveling especially to the Eastern Shore beaches and would drop everything for an impromptu shopping trip to the Lancaster Outlets. She looked forward to every spring, working in her flower garden helped keep our local flower nurseries in business. Her favorite hobby was to spend time with her children, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family as well as her many friends.

As well as her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her two sons, Larry C. Waddell and Robert H. Waddell.

She is survived by her children, Joanie McCoy (Tom), Lisa Gaeth (Aaron), and Charles Stoker (Debbie); her sister Joan DeVaughn (Mayda); Grandchildren; Danny, Heather, Ryan, Jennifer, Alex, Sydney, Megan, Cameron, Olivia, and Robyn; Great Grandchildren Gavin, Logan, Eli, Eliza and a baby boy due in April;. Her longtime companion of 25 years, Joseph Thisse, and "Extra" Daughters; Marleen Michael, Carey Hackett and Tonya Martinez.

Visitations will be held at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA, on Thursday, December 7, 2023, the first visitation is from 2 pm to 4 pm and the second visitation is from 6 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held, Friday, December 8, 2023 at 11 am at the funeral home with a visitation beginning at 10 am. Internment will immediately follow at Slate Ridge Cemetery.
