Karen E. Nickels Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen E. Nickels of Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania, born in Evanston, Illinois, who passed away on December 8, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Robert R. D. Nickels; and her parents, Melvin Yocum and Elisabeth Yocum (Miller). She is survived by: her daughters, Elisabeth "Beth" Nickels of Stroudsburg and Catherine Berger (Derek) of Harrisburg, NC; her grandchildren, Emily Carroll, James Carroll, Allison Berger and Jared Berger; her siblings, Cyrus Yocum (Carol) of LaHonda, CA and Anne Tearse (Bob) of Freeland, WA; her nephews, Jason Yocum, Phillip Tearse and Brandon Tearse (Kari); and her great-niece Sophia. She is also survived by her four grandchildren.
Due to current COVID restrictions, Karen's life will be remembered and reflected on in a virtual memorial service on Sunday December 13th at 12:00 pm with plans for a jazz mass Celebration of Life in the spring of 2021. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial remembrances be made to the Presbyterian Church of the Mountain, P.O. Box 336, Delaware Water Gap, PA 18327.
