She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Johnston and Lucy Johnston (Heddings); her spouse J. Kendall Sommers; and her siblings, Mearl, Carl, Harold, Myron Johnston, Severna Young and Geraldine Simpler.
She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia A. Whitenight of Danville and Carol E. Roberts of Dewart; her stepson Larry R. Sommers (Linda) of Catawissa; and her brother Arthur L. "Bud" Johnston of Washingtonville. She is also survived by five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
