He is survived by: his brother John Balavage (Susan); his nieces and nephews, Sharon Pliske, Sara Balavage, Jennifer Shook, Allen Balavage and Andy Balavage; his aunts, Mary Louise Stefanowicz and Bertha Stefanowicz; and his close friend Kenneth Scavone (Rebecca).
