He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul R. "Dutch" Sr. Sheffer and Isabelle F. "Izzy" Moran Sheffer; and his siblings, Paul "Bump" Sheffer, Jr., Donna Walters and Marie Bair.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Sheffer of Cyclone; his children, Joe Bradford (Yvonne) of Port Allegany, John Sheffer of Smethport, Timothy Sheffer (Diane) of Eldred, Bill Sheffer (Ruby) of Portville, NY, Linda Torres of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Amy Holly (Dan) of Duke Center and Beth Pierson of Bradford; and his sister Laura Gross-Gordon (Dennis) of Eldred. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
