He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert H. and Eva Hails, Sr. (Pry); his wife Geraldine B. "Jerry"; his granddaughter Theresa Renziehausen; and his siblings, Robert "Huck" Hails, Roberta "Toots" Pillart, Eva Mae Hess and Henrietta "Sis" Machen.

He is survived by : his children, Colleen Donovan, Cynthia Scully (Daniel) of Curtisville, Patricia Hrnciar, John "Jack" T. Hails, Jr. (Lori) of Cherry Valley, William P. Hails (Donna) of Curtisville, Robert H. Hails of Russellton and Todd A. Hails (Heather Johnston) of Tarentum; and his sister Linda Hidek (William) of Wilmington, NC.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter.
