He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard William and Catherine Earhart (Wilmer). He is survived by: his wife Kathryn P. Everhart (Ward); his sons, John Jr., Michael, Matthew and Tony; and his stepdaughters, Amy and Linda. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
